GTCO CalComp Announces the Super L IV

Industry’s first large-format digitizer to incorporate native USB support

September 3, 2004–GTCO CalComp announced today the release of their new Super L IV line of large-format digitizers featuring native USB support for simplified connectivity. Available immediately, the Super L IV is designed to allow more versatility than ever before for users in a variety of markets that need to take information from a paper original, and convert it into digital form for manipulation.

The Super L IV is next in the family of high quality digitizers that set the standard in large-format digitizing. Super L IV digitizers best suit professionals in construction estimating, textiles, CAD and facilities management applications.

New features of the Super L IV include:

USB and Serial ports that utilize standard interface cables
USB powered when connected via USB (Serial requires a power supply)
QuikRuler III port for simplified connectivity to the GTCO CalComp QuikRuler III module
Removable electronic controller

“Our customers have relied on the quality, durability, and performance of the Super L line to meet a broad range of digitizing needs,” says Rob Meissner, Vice President of Marketing. “The simplified connectivity provided by the native USB support in the Super L IV demonstrates our commitment to continue to enhance the product line and to provide our customers with the resolution, durability, and quality they require.”

Available in five sizes ranging from 20” x 24” to 44” x 60”, the Super L IV provides a resolution of up to 2,540 lines per inch and accuracy of 0.010”. In addition, the Super L IV gives users the choice of using corded or cordless pointing devices, like slim-styled pens and multi-buttoned cursors, to easily get information into a digital format, whether it is a set of blueprints, maps or textile patterns.
